What do we need to know? Does research in mathematics education address the concerns of teachers and policy makers?

This is your chance to play a part in shaping the research agenda in mathematics education. To do this, we invite you to submit an important question that you think should be answered by research in mathematics education and also to indicate whether research has helped you in the past and, if so, how.
